Wayne Butterworth and I where lucky enough to be invited to the opening of this great exhibition. If you get the chance please go and see it tell Neil and Symon you saw it on Souldham. The guys at the gallery have really got the Northern Soul theme running around the gallery with a few choice Wigan tunes playing in the background, and lots of flyers for venues around the country, take your venue flyers down with you.
If you like me thought that art galleries are stuffy places forget it this is cool laid back and chilled out. We saw people dancing in the gallery on the Saturday, when it was open to the public, how cool is that, no not just me dancing.
Symon and Neil have even said if any soul clubs want to visit the gallery and there is a few people going they will open late and open the decks up and have a northern soul party contact them on 0121 236 5800 for more details.
All in all Davids paintings are great I sat there on my own with the music playing looking at the pitures and they totally dragged me into them, with a big grin on my face, in a different place, reliving my most treasured memories of many wonderful nights at Wigan Casino.

Dates for your Diary at the St Pauls Gallery

The Flirtations will be at the gallery from 2.00pm to late afternoon signing copies of their new cd and visiting the exhibition, why not go along and say hi the the ladies.
Saturday 10th January 2009
Tommy Hunt will be visiting the gallery from 1.30pm to late afternoon signing copies of hi new book and copies also signing a limited edition run of one of Davids prints.
